Join Us at QS Back to School Summit
SEPTEMBER 15–SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 | NEW YORK, NY
Today’s students are evaluating institutions differently. Across undergraduate, graduate, online, and adult learning, they are comparing a wider range of options and looking for programs that better fit their goals, circumstances, and priorities.
At QS Back to School Summit, Everspring will join Syracuse University to discuss what those shifts mean for institutions looking to stay relevant, responsive, and positioned for growth.

From Pressure to Advantage: How Syracuse Is Building for the Next Student
Wednesday, September 16, 2026 | 11:30 AM-12:00 PM ET | Breakout 1, 11th Floor
The student has changed. Has the university? Across undergraduate, graduate, online, and adult learning, today’s students increasingly start with a need, not your brand, and evaluate you against a field far wider than your traditional competitors.
This session will explore how Syracuse is designing around student needs, borrowing proven consumer practices from outside higher education, and using innovative academic leaders to test new approaches. It will also examine the central capabilities institutions need to take successful ideas beyond a single program or unit and scale them more broadly.
Attendees will leave with a practical way to identify where their own institution needs to adapt, where new approaches can be tested, and what it takes to turn changing student expectations into institutional advantage.
Session Speakers:

Mike Bell
Chief Marketing Officer, Everspring

Terence Lau
Dean, College of Law, Syracuse University

Dan Dillon
SVP Business Development, Syracuse University
